Celebrating Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori through Te Ao Māori!
Whakatū Te Korowai Manaakitanga Trust invites you to join us to celebrate and learn Te Reo Māori through our seven different kaupapa which include: Rongoā FULL, Taonga Pūoro (Pūrākau), Taonga Pūoro (making), Raranga, Poi, Kāpehu Whetū and Mau Rakau.
Out of these seven you get to choose two that you would like to attend. Here you can have a taste of the amazing kaupapa that we have in our communities while learning Te Reo Māori.
Come connect with our wonderful kaiako and see which kaupapa calls most to you.
Kai will be on offer through local fundraisers to help our communities thrive.

Lineup
Rongoā- Brya Roussal
Our rongoā (medicine) is everywhere if you know how to open your heart to it. Brya Roussal will be taking you on a journey of connection to ourselves through our natural enviroment to create healing.
Raranga- Daina Aupapa
Come weave and connect with Hine-Te-Iwa-Iwa and explore how to create and heal with the amazing harakeke. Daina Aupapa will be covering karakia, Atua kōrero, tikanga and helping you create with harakeke.
Taonga Pūoro- Sean Delany and Aramoana Du Feu
Create your own taonga pūoro (Māori instrument) to tune into the sounds we have in our taiao and learn about the pūrākau and mātauranga behind ORO. - FULL The first taonga pūoro workshop is with Ara Moana who will be focusing on the pūrākau around these taonga. The second workshop is with Sean Delany who will be helping you make your own taonga.
Poi- Debbrina Anderson
Debbrina will be guiding you how to make non-traditional poi for all ages and genders! She will be helping you create poi poto (short) and poi roa (long) and to finnish she will support you to do a waiata-ā-ringa.
Kāpehu Whetū (Star Compass)-Jodi Goodwin
Nau mai haere mai a kōrero, sharing the basic foundations for how our tūpuna used celestial navigation to voyage across Te Moana Nui a Kiwa
Mau Rakau- Tumoana Tahuri
Step into the realm of Tūmatauenga and learn the physical and spiritual practice of Mau Rakau.
