Whale Tales and Dolphin Discoveries
Event description
Learn about the amazing whales and dolphins of Aotearoa New Zealand, find out about the latest local research projects, and join for a day of dialogue about cetaceans and the importance of connection between coastal communities and local wildlife.
This event aims to bring together members of the community, tour operators, scientists, conservation workers and other marine folks. There will be presentations from a range of experts, a panel discussion about ‘Whales, People and Place’, a quiz, a series of displays and plenty of opportunities for kōrero and Q&A.
A light lunch will be provided.
This event is suitable for ages 14 and up.
Transport to the event is not provided, but please get in touch if you need assistance getting there.
Limited spaces - booking is essential. Registration opens mid September.
This event is hosted by Coastal People Southern Skies, University of Otago and the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre.
