Travelling in the safe hands of Whale Watching Perth, with a boat crew dedicated to ensuring that you not only witness this incredible natural spectacle but also gain a deeper understanding of these magnificent creatures and the importance of their conservation. Step aboard their air-conditioned, state-of-the-art vessel for an up-close encounter with these magnificent marine mammals. With three viewing decks, you’ll have unparalleled views to capture amazing photos.

What to bring:

Your DSLR or Mirrorless Camera

All brands are welcome! Be sure to charge your batteries and pack spares. Mirrorless cameras generally perform better in this area. If you have one with high frame rates and solid stabilization, bring it along.

Telephoto Lens (if available)

Ideal lens options include:

Zooms: 100–400mm, 150–600mm, 200–600mm, 200–800mm (image-stabilized preferred)

Primes: 400mm or 600mm

Polarizer Filter

A polarizer fitted to your primary lens can help reduce glare, especially in bright outdoor conditions.

Binoculars (Optional)

Useful for spotting subjects before switching to your camera.

Weather-Appropriate Clothing

Jacket or outerwear suitable for the conditions

Comfortable walking shoes

Hat and sunglasses (consider ones with straps or retainers in case of wind)

Sunscreen

Always important for outdoor shoots even on cloudy days.

Snacks and drinks are available to purchase from the onboard bar.

Boarding Time: Boarding starts at 8:30 am. The vessel departs strictly at 9:00 am.
Please arrive early, late arrivals will be left behind.
