What does Economic Development mean at the local level?

Event description

Dr Susan Stone is the Credit Union SA Chair of Economics at UniSA, where she provides expert analysis and new thinking about South Australia’s economic position, including how global economic factors impact local businesses.  Prior to joining UniSA Dr. Stone worked at the OECD, the United Nations in Asia and the Pacific, the Asian Development Bank Institute, and the Productivity Commission in Melbourne.  Dr Stone is a frequent guest on radio and television and her opinion pieces have been published in InDaily, The Australian Financial Review and The Australian.

In addition, her work has been published as national and multinational government reports, edited volumes, and in peer-reviewed journals.

Dr Stone will be discussing what the term ‘economic development’ means in a practical sense and what its impacts are in a local region. She will discuss this in the context of current State and Commonwealth government plans for development more broadly. Dr Stone will be happy to take questions.

This lecture would be suited to anyone in the community interested in the economic development in our region, that may possibly affect your household.
