What does it mean to be “future ready”?

Event description

Don’t lie. How many times have you been surprised by change? Back in the 1980s Alvin Toffler even coined the term “Future Shock” to describe what will happen to people in a world of accelerating and disruptive changes. Here we are!

It has been painful for us to watch people and society overwhelmed by change. It is well established, for example, that the coronavirus pandemic was anticipated by many people. And yet only a few countries were really ready. And in the futurist “card deck”, pandemic is only one of many cards that the future might play.

However, we futurists don’t have all the answers and we certainty cannot predict the future.  Even futurists are surprised by change. That is why we want to go on a journey with you. We want to find out from you what you think it means to be “future ready”.

We want to create some practical tools and thinking that can help you and your organisations to both evaluate your future readiness and to also begin building this future readiness into your practices, policies and culture.

While we have our own ideas about what future readiness means, we think your ideas are as important as ours, as you are on the “front line” of change. That is why we want to have this event, to hear from you what future readiness means.

As a bonus, we promise that anyone who contributes to this service development journey we are on will get access to our alpha and beta prototypes, to use for yourself and your organisations as you desire.

We hope you can join this journey with us and hope to see you at the event.
