What's the Big Deal?  A Federal Election Inquiry!

    WHEN:   Monday 26 September  7.00 - 8.00pm AEST (Zoom opens at 6.55pm)

WHERE: Online via Zoom.  See Event link HERE

Federal Parliament is holding an Inquiry into the 2022 election, and they want to hear from you!

The inquiry will examine reforms to political donation laws, truth in political advertising and more.  Any member of the public can make a submission to the inquiry by Friday 7 October.

We've invited two of our favourite experts on this matter to a special Voices of Mackellar webinar:

    • Craig Reucassel (Director of the 'BIg Deal', Fight for Planet A and more); and
    • Saffron Zomer (Australian Democracy Network)

They'll explain the issue and take you through some guaranteed simple steps to make your very own submission.

This is your chance to have your voice heard...

    Details on our speakers...

Craig Reucassel is an Australian television and radio comedian, who is best known for Win The Week, Big Deal, Big Weather, The Fight For Planet A, War on Waste, and for his work with the satirical comedy group, The Chaser. Craig brings a wealth of experience and an impressive track record in delivering engaging content and impact campaigns that raise awareness, change behaviour and influence the policy arena.

Saffron Zomer is Executive Director of the Australian Democracy Network, a lawyer, campaigner and political strategist with more than a decade of experience leading law reform campaigns. Prior to the Australian Democracy Network, Saffron was Government Relations Manager at the Australian Conservation Foundation. She spent several years living and working in the US, where she held a range of campaign and government relations roles.

We're holding this webinar in response to our Mackellar Matters Report 2022 which ranked lack of transparency and accountability - especially linked to the area of political donors and lobbyists - as your #2 issue of concern.

Donations to support the activities of Voices of Mackellar will be gratefully received.

People of all ages and all electorates are welcome to attend.
