"Whatever Happened to Captain Planet?" (and other considerations of 80s Babies)
Description
Once upon a time, a generation of people was led to believe in the words of Captain Planet - words of promise of a brighter and greener tomorrow.
Promises of '80s and '90s pop culture, now seemingly broken and forgotten, have led that generation to ask ....
... "Whatever happened to Captain Planet?"
Swept out of their living-room, through the television, and into surreal realms by Gaia, The Spirit of the Earth, Samantha and Kelli are shown just how much we have forgotten the message of Captain Planet.
A quirky "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" style exploration in contemporary ballet and hit music from the last 40 years.
Multiform art interacting: Contemporary Ballet meets Audio-Visual footage. An immersive, Bretchian experience where narrative and cause meets surrealism. A new work by Tamsyn Heynes
A contemporary ballet for contemporary time.
