When Big Feelings Take Over: Understanding & Supporting Our Tamariki
Description
When Big Feelings Take Over: Understanding & Supporting Our Tamariki
Brought to you by Waitakere Primary PTA
Parenting neurodivergent children can sometimes feel isolating, so this is a chance to connect with other parents, share experiences and take away some practical ideas to support our tamariki at home and at school.
Join us for an evening with Emma Cutts, a specialist educator with 25 years of experience and a mum to two neurodivergent boys.
Emma will share her knowledge and experience around how our brains work, the power of co-regulation and how connection can support wellbeing and behaviour in a neuroaffirming way.
We’ll explore:
* Understanding how our children’s brains work
* The power of co-regulation
* Supporting behaviour through connection
* Helping our tamariki become more regulated
* Supporting ourselves as parents too
Doors open: 6:30pm for refreshments
Talk starts: 7:00pm
Talk duration: 1 hour
