Asif Izak, Hof HaCarmel regionl council mayor, visits Australia and gives one opportunity to hear the story of the war in Israel from a mayors point of view.

Leadership in times of crisis, the power of local communities, the future of Israel following October 7th and the war and how important are the youth, especially now.

Asif Izak is the mayor of the Hof HaCarmel regional council since 2018. 

As of 2024, Asif is the chairman of HaBonim Dror movement, and chairman of the Mishor HaHof Municipalities Association (12 municipalities; tot. population 250,000 )

Served the IDF for 6 years as a fighter and as an officer, in the Shimshon unit - an elite unit of Mista'arvim (under
cover).
In 2009, After being elected as chair of Kibbutz HaHotrim, his home, he led the Kibbutz out of a social and a financial crisis, recovring from a debt of over a 100 Million. 

Asif then established the Youth and Social Engagement department at the national Kibbutz movement, and was its manager until elected as Mayor of Hof HaCarmel.
Asif is a member of Kibbutz HaHotrim where he raises his three children together with his wife Yael.
