Where Are Our Koalas? Repentance Creek
Event description
Join us on Friday, 6th December at Repentance Creek Hall from 9:30am to 3:00pm for an interactive and hands-on workshop focused on koala monitoring and conservation. This workshop is part of a community-driven koala monitoring campaign and is designed to equip participants with the skills needed to protect and support local koala populations.Â
Learn from two expert facilitators: Amanda Lane from Biolink and Maria Mathes from Healing History. Throughout the day, you'll explore:
- The importance of koala monitoring and its role in conservation efforts.
- How to identify koala food trees and understand koala habitat preferences.
- Techniques for surveying koalas in the wild.
- How to assess the health of koalas and recognize signs of illness or injury.
- Methods for accurately recording and reporting koala data.
The workshop will be fully catered, and all participants will receive a booklet and additional resources to support their journey as community koala monitors. In the afternoon we will head out to a site where we can put our new knowledge into action.
This workshop is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our local koala protection efforts.
