"Where Sea Meets the Land" Live Music Sessions with Dance - Session*1

"Where Sea meets the Land" is an Artistic, Live Music and Dance project born from a Creative with the intention of Supporting other different Creatives of our Melbourne/Naarm Community and sometimes reaching beyond those lands.

If we are to go deeper into the intention, WSMTL desires:

• to Promote talented and local musicians, support Artists and Creatives from different sectors/paths of Life

• to offer events that activate your 5 senses and bring us Humans together, closer to one another through face to face interaction, sound, dance, good food and a good drink (these are Sober and Device-free Events)

• for us all to build meaningful connections

• to create this experiences on the edge, where Water caresses the Land, which for this time will be along the gorgeous Port Philip Bay in a venue facing Elwood Beach (Sunset views guaranteed).

This event is our First Session and the Creator/Event Producer/Organiser Andreja Trobec aka Terra Art is intending to create many more Sessions in the coming future.

Session 1 will bring you closer to:

• 2 amazing Musicians/Singers/Songwriters,

• will give you a taste of Contact improvisation through live performance and a mini introduction workshop by two experienced Dancers,

• deliciously Home-made food, all prepared with lots of Love, as much as possible from scratch, foraged and found by a lovely Chef.

• an amazing sound experience with an acoustic feel meticulously managed by our Sound Engineer.

With this event:

• We invite you to slow down, be fully present to each moment, put away your devices and connect with lovely humans around you.

• We invite you to connect through conversation, but to keep it to the minimum necessary and sometimes to be fully silent and just focused on the Sounds that will be offered and created in the space.

• We invite you to activate your senses, observe with your eyes, stop and enjoy delicious food, a cup of warm cacao or chai, to explore a dance movement by yourself or with someone else.

• And in all of this We invite you to always put yourself first, to follow your Heart and what feels aligned for you in each moment. You are free to engage/participate or to simply step aside and observe only.

• We would love for you to feel at Peace within yourself and with others, to feel safe and at ease with all that is.

• We invite you to be curious and to explore the beauty of what Life has to offer when we come together in this way.

EVENT PROGRAM:

6:45pm - doors open

6:45pm till 7:30pm - Dinner is served (you can preorder your meal*)

7:30pm till 8:30pm - ARVANITIS Live Music concert and Contact improvisation performance

8:30pm till 9:30pm - Contact Improvisation mini Workshop with JUSTIN and NED

9:30pm till 10:30pm - GEORGIA ASTRIDGE Live Music Concert

THE END

* $15 for MEAL PREORDER - ON THE MENU - North African Ratatouille (GF) with quinoa and home made sourdough on side (not GF).

The ratatouille is made with oven roasted capsicum, eggplant, zucchini & tomato, some butter beans seasoned with rosemary, a touch of chili, dates and plenty of olive oil. 

Our Chef Martin will also be offering a selection of homemade sweet treats, accompanied by house-roasted and freshly milled ceremonial cacao and their own caffeine-free Healing Chai.

These will be available for purchase on the Night.

ABOUT YOUR HOST - ANDREJA TROBEC aka TERRA ART CREATIONS

TERRA ART is Andreja Trobec - Creator/Event Producer/Organiser

Andreja is a Creative herself and very passionate about connection/community building, dance, photography and massage therapy.

Terra Art started as a photography business in 2019 and is today much more than just Photographs.

One of her big Passions is organising events in support of the Community and her path into this field has started in 2021 when she stepped on board Hosting and partially managing a local market in Upwey.

A lot of experience and connections have been made in those 3 years of Seed of Life Market management and also in those years that followed, where she created her own Market from scratch and managed it for 7 months in Ferntree Gully (2025-Under the Fern trees Market).

After that chapter closed, she decided it is time to embark towards new adventures and Projects and "Where the Sea meets the Land" is just one of those.

Coming very soon will be also "Tiny Sessions from the Heart" which will be mini concerts in a comfortable and warm Home setting.

Terra Art - From Earth to Heart

SESSION 1 - EVENT CREATIVES:

ARVANITIS

Arvanitis (Michael Arvanitakis) is a multi-faceted singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer hailing from Victoria’s Yarra Ranges. After enjoying a rich career as a collaborator and session musician, he has passionately dived into performing solo and has developed a rich and diverse body of work on record, screen and stage. 

While difficult to describe with words, his music is a unique synergy of Folk, Funk, Reggae, Rock and World music, woven together with soul searching lyrics and diverse instrumentation. 

Arvanitis’s debut film clip for “Butterfly Family”, the debut single from the upcoming "Bridge over Babylon Bay" Album gives an accurate representation of the overall material.

Michael has spent his life as a professional musician and music educator crossing many genres including folk, rock, world music, jazz and classical. Recording and performance credits include Gotye, The Teskey Brothers, Tenzin Choegyal, Jeff Lang, Liz Stringer, Dallas Frasca and he was a long-term member of the Jed Rowe Band, The Anecdote, Prajna and Wandering Arc. 

Instruments played include Double Bass, Cello, Sitar, Trombone, 12 String acoustic guitar, violin, viola, piano and drums.

Arvanitis was Michael’s predecessors’ surname which changed to Arvanitakis when his grandfather was 10 years old, due to racial prejudice whilst the family was in refuge camps.

GEORGIA ASTRIDGE

Georgia believes that music is a bridge that connects us back to ourselves, to each other and to the Earth and greater vision.

She is a self taught singer-songwriter who after a rocky childhood growing up in Alice springs, took to the road and spent 10 years travelling across Australia to seek truth and healing. Living in a Buddhist Monastery for a year and a half at age 20, is where she first met Mantras and their magical benefits of purifying negative karma. Years later, at age 25 she found her way to Peru, where she met with plant medicines and Medicine Music. This Music influences her songs today and helped her a lot on her journey! 

Georgia Founded "Heart circle Kirtan" in 2018 and has shared Kirtans for 6 years but has recently stepped back to conserve energy.

Georgia has released 2 albums and countless singles, including folk songs, medicine music, mantra music and dance tracks! 

Now she records at home and is working on her third album "Building Bridges".

She frequently plays at festivals in her community of Adelaide, including FRINGE festival and LoveFest as well as various other heart led conscious gatherings.

Today, Georgia's performances weave together raw acoustic story-telling, earthy soundscapes and ancient sacred chants. She creates a heart led and intentional space for audiences to shake off what no longer serves them, pray, cry, laugh and move together in community. Her songs ‘You came here to be human’ and ‘Sacred fire’ are well loved anthems for the local community.

JUSTIN HOLLAND

Justin is a dancer, musician, and teacher with over 30 years of experience in the performing arts. He has studied with Nancy Stark Smith, Martin Keogh, Helen Clarke-Lapin, Rinske Ginsberg, and Martin Hughes. He is a founding member of Bird On A Wire Dance Theatre, a Contact Improvisation performance ensemble, and has performed extensively throughout Australia and internationally.

After more than 30 years of dancing Contact Improvisation, the form continues to keep him curious. There is always more to learn—new bodies to dance with, new sensations to track, and a deeper listening at the point of contact. An ongoing question in his practice is how we care for ourselves and our partners in ways that allow both the form and our bodies to be sustained over decades.

His teaching is grounded in practice, prayer, and play. Together we refine technique, cultivate presence, and explore the unknown through movement and contact. He aims to create a space where dancers can deepen their relationship to the form, trust their experience, and continue discovering what is possible.

He is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA), a qualified yoga teacher, and works across dance, improvisation, and music. In recent years, he has devoted much of his practice to the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process, teaching workshops throughout Australia and Asia and undertaking senior training with founder Reinhard Flatischler. He currently works as Musical Director and Choreographer with Somebody’s Daughter Theatre Company, a Melbourne-based community arts organisation working with women in prison and marginalised young people.

NED NICOLSON

Since discovering movement at theatre school in 2021, Ned has immersed herself in Contact Improvisation, training in Madrid and exploring the practice through somatic movement, contemporary dance, creation and performance.

Her work is deeply rooted in gravity, surrendering into the fall, embracing imbalance and learning to dance with rather than against the forces acting on our bodies.

Now based in Victoria, she teaches Contact Improvisation on the Surf Coast and in Melbourne, while creating movement spaces that explore the relationship between body, land, food, time and community.

MARTIN SØRENSEN (assisted by Rosa) from Shekinah3

Martin has a long history as a vegan cook, having worked at places such as Monk Bodhi Dharma and Admiral Cheng Ho before starting Damona Dairy Free Cheese.

His motivation for sharing food comes from a deep love of food and animals, and a desire to show just how delicious plant-based food can be. He creates delicious Vegan plates and all food is as much as possible made from scratch, foraged, found, and then shared.

For this occasion he will be serving a North African Ratatouille with quinoa and home made sourdough. The ratatouille is made with oven roasted capsicum, eggplant, zucchini & tomato, some butter beans seasoned with rosemary, a touch of chili, dates and plenty of olive oil. 

He will also be offering a selection of homemade sweet treats, accompanied by house-roasted and freshly milled ceremonial cacao and their own caffeine-free Healing Chai.

Today, Martin is part of Shekinah3 in Brunswick, where he works alongside his wife, Rosa, as healers and therapists. Passionate about building and supporting community, sharing vegan food and drinks made and offered with love and care is an integral part of what they do. In their shop you can explore more around herbal medicine, ceremonial jewelery and sacred healing tools.

WHAT TO BRING

The Event Hall has a gorgeous and well kept wooden floor (parquet) and plenty of chairs for you to sit on.

In case you wish to sit on the floor, we recommend to bring your own cushion.

Make sure you have water to keep you hydrated.

And simply bring your curiosity and the intention of having a great time together.
