Which Way Forward? AI and Decent Work

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) and automated decision making (ADM) in connection to work has led to calls to strengthen workplace rights including through adopting stronger protections against intrusive employer surveillance, new worker consultation measures, and improved rights for workers to control their own data in relation to the use of AI.

In this symposium unionists, academics, and civil society advocates examine Australia’s options for effective AI regulation for the world of work and identify what alliances and coalitions can do to obtain good institutional frameworks for regulation and for ensuring workers have a say in technology use and change.
