White Mass for Catholic Medical Professionals
Event description
Perth's second annual White Mass for Catholic Medical Professionals (Doctors, Nurses and Allied Health), followed by the Blessing of the Hands, will be held on Saturday 17th May at 2:30pm. The primary celebrant for the event is Fr Adalbert Imperial OCD- who was a doctor before becoming a priest.
The White Mass is a 100-year-old tradition, based on the much older 'Red Mass' for Lawyers and Politicians, which along with the Blessing of the Hands bring the Catholic Medical community together in prayer and fellowship. This year the White Mass is being held at Infant Jesus parish Morley, and afterwards there will be a bring a plate meal along with tea and coffee in the parish center.
This event is being brought to you by the Western Australian branch of the Australian Catholic Medical Association (ACMA) which is dedicated to serving WA's Catholic Medical Community: besides the annual White Mass we hold social events (including Coffee Catch up for Catholic Medical Professionals), lectures, quarterly branch meetings for members, a Whatapps group and the national body has regular online prayer sessions- something for everyone. We also have priests with medical backgrounds we can put you in touch with for spiritual direction.
