Sat, 26 Apr, 4:30pm - 8:30pm AEST

Event description

Join us for a special outdoor screening of White Rock, a powerful documentary exploring the longspined urchin crisis, its impact, and the solutions emerging to protect the Great Southern Reef. Set against the stunning backdrop of Washerwomans Beach, this event brings together industry representatives, chefs, and ocean advocates for an evening of film, discussion, and community connection.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with key voices from the film, offering insights into the challenges and opportunities of managing this rapidly changing ecosystem. There will also be a unique opportunity to taste urchin, showcasing how this species can be transformed into a sustainable seafood option. Live music will set the scene, and guests are welcome to bring their own picnic to enjoy under the stars.

On Sunday, a dedicated workshop for teachers will provide hands-on resources for bringing ocean conservation into the classroom.

Bring a rug, settle in, and connect with others who care about the future of our marine environment. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your spot.
