Event description

Take time out of the hustle and bustle of daily life and spend an hour connecting with nature, yourself and other like-minded individuals by joining us on this reflective guided walk and talk through Quarry Hills Bushland Park. Along the walk you’ll take in some great scenery of the surrounding area including views of the city skyline and Yarra Ranges.

Time spent in nature could be a psychological circuit breakers for some people (for others they may usemeditation, cooking, gardening etc). One key to better health and wellbeing is connecting tonature. While we don’t all head outdoors for the same reason, hopefully one of the reasons many of us choose is that it’s joining in and becoming part of a community we’re proud to belong to.

The narrative or purpose during the walk will draw upon metaphors with elements of nature and a safe discussion that is often connected to or integrated within the landscapes of people’s lives. You may learn something new, share something, laugh and nurture others while nurturing yourself. This is an opportunity to build social connections and experience comfort in and from nature.

The Wurundjeri-willum people of the Kulin Nation are the Traditional Owners of the land in which the Quarry Hills Bushland Park sits. Their relationship with the land extends back tens of thousands of years to when their creator spirit ‘Bunjil’ formed their people, the land and all living things. Tangible evidence of the Wurundjeri relationship with this landscape can be found in the artefact scatters and scarred trees that remain in the broader precinct - physical reminders of the lives of the Wurundjeri ancestors.

This walk and talk  is open to EVERYONE (not only men) and furry pets on a leash.

These walks are facilitated by Vinay & Leanne who are practitioners who reside in Whittlesea and enjoy finding and sharing places of intersection and connection.
