    Event description

“Ka tangi te pipiwharauroa, ko ngā karere a Mahuru,”
The pīpīwharauroa’s call tells us that spring is here!

    This month we will be:

    • Planting potatoes
    • Sowing salad
    • Starting the warmer loving seedlings under cover
    • Prepare vegetable gardens for planting
    • Harvest broccoli, cabbage, kale, lettuces, silverbeet.
    • Compost care

Also we need to get ready for the Garden Ramble: renew signs, weed pathways.

We have a new project in development, our adventure trail, through the tree area, creating a family friendly space for fun and imagination. Come and help - we would love your ideas!

The regular working bees happen every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.
Please do bring a hat, shoes, and gloves if you like wearing them. We have water and picnic seating onsite.

The Wi Neera Street community garden is an educational and recreational space where people can learn from each other, and learn by doing. Gardeners of all experience levels and abilities are welcome. No commitment necessary, come for a look and a chat if you like and hopefully you'll leave with more gardening know-how and, perhaps some spare produce.
