Wild ACT
Event description
Spend Sundays in nature and meet new people. Wild ACT provides the perfect combination of short and one-day bushwalks for people aged 18-30 who want to explore but don't know where to go.
Each fortnight we alternate between a short walk or a longer walk. Register for the date or the type of walk that interests you.
One-day hike - Sunday 23 March
Join our passionate wildlife lover Rach who will guide you in exploring the wild and wonderful natural areas around the ACT. A different walk and location will be chosen each month but will be based in the ACT and will be established trails. Every walk will include a packed lunch.
- Time: 8:45am for 9am start. Finish at 3pm (approx 9km walk to Square Rock in Namadgi National Park).
- Limited to 15 people.
- Meeting point: Outside the Belconnen Youth Centre, Cnr Chandler Street and Swanson Ct. We travel together in a small bus to/from the trail.
- Please bring: Water bottle, sunscreen, hat, snacks. Footwear: you’ll need enclosed footwear such as boots or runners. Wear sunsafe clothing – long-sleeved light shorts with collars.
Local bushwalk - Sunday 6 April
Join a beautiful social bushwalk through local Bruce, Aranda or Black Mountain reserves with bush walking enthusiast Esther. Every walk will include a free coffee, exploration of new trails, and local wildlife such as wallabies, kangaroos, kookaburras and cockatoos and stunning wildflowers. Come and meet like-minded people for an easy-moderate walk while enjoying some exercise and nature!
- Time: 8:45am for 9am start. Finish at 11am (approx 5km on the Pinnacle Main Loop Track which takes 1.5-2.5 hours. Moderate difficulty). See image below.
- Limited to 15 people.
- Meeting point: Meet at the end of Dungowan St, Hawker. Google Maps.
- Please bring: Water bottle, sunscreen, hat.
- Optional coffee at the end of the walk at Oscar's Bakery Cafe Weetangera.

Open to people who live, work or study in Bruce or Belconnen who are aged 18-30.
