Sailing is to the wind, as writing is to self-expression. Just as sailors harness the wind to move boats through the water, we writers can consciously invoke the muse and set sail into the creative, channeling our creative energy to move our thoughts and emotions into and through our world.

Creative expression requests of us a deep connection to the present moment. As we sail, we experience deep states of relaxation naturally induced by the effects of the waves, wind, blue water, and salt air, grounding us in the present moment and quieting the noise of everyday life. This state of natural mindfulness and present-moment awareness opens up space for creativity to flourish. Showing up, sitting quietly and “allowing” makes easy “work” of writing.
