Description
Saturday 16 January | 10am–1pm
Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the medicinal potential of common weeds growing all around us!
Together we'll explore five medicinal plants in depth, learning about their traditional uses, medicinal properties, key identification features and how they interact with the body.
We'll then head into the garden for a guided foraging walk, putting our identification skills into practice and harvesting some plants along the way.
Back inside, we'll explore different ways to prepare and preserve herbal medicine, including infused oils, salves, teas and poultices. You'll have the opportunity to get hands-on and make a simple herbal remedy to take home.
We'll also explore how to use our senses to better understand plants and their medicinal actions, while learning about safe and responsible herbal medicine practices.
You'll take home a herbal medicine booklet featuring plant profiles, identification guides, traditional uses and simple remedy recipes to continue exploring at home.
Our hope is to inspire a deeper connection with the plants around us and encourage greater food and medicine sovereignty, while nurturing the land that sustains us.
