Wildlife Friendly Gardening Workshop
Event description
Are you passionate about wildlife and want to learn more about how you can help protect Australia's native animals? As more and more land is cleared, many animals (such as the endangered western ringtail possum, and the endangered Carnaby's black cockatoo) are turning to residential backyards for shelter, food and water. Our goal is to help the community to make small changes to their backyards which can make a big difference for the animals.
Join us to hear from guest speaker Dr Bronte Van Helden to learn all things Wildlife Friendly Gardening! Bronte will explain the importance of using native vegetation, the different types of water sources, as well as show you some different shelter types (possum boxes, frog hotels and bird boxes to name a few!). This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to know more about how they can help protect Australian animals. There will also be the opportunity to chat with Bronte and Emma (urban ringtail possum project leader) and ask questions!
This is a free event - so come along and learn more about how you can make your backyard a sanctuary for native animals! We will host a second event on the 3rd of April (covering the same information) should you be unavailable on this date (28th March).
Light refreshments will be provided.
We hope to see you there!
