The Wind Telephone

Who would you call if you had the chance to re connect with someone who had passed away? Inspired by a true story, The Wind Telephone is an immersive and participatory art installation for one, where you the caller, choose who you make a call to.
A personally curated and creative offering by artists exploring themes of grief, connection and release.

WHAT IS IT?
The Wind Telephone is an interactive art installation inspired by the real-life story of Itaru Sasaki and his Wind Phone, which was created as a space for grieving and remembrance after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. 

This installation allows participants to reflect on their own losses by using phones in a private, creative environment. Each participant has 25 minutes to explore four different spaces and make one-way calls to their lost loved ones. While the installation provides a space for personal reflection, it is not a substitute for professional counselling. 

Artists are available for support, but they are not trained counsellors. Feedback forms are available for sharing your experience.
