Join Women of Colour Scotland for a two-day Windrush Day Gathering at Garnethill Multicultural Centre, Glasgow — part of the Glasgow 2026 Festival.

Saturday 20 June 2026 — The Lounge, doors open 1:00pm

An afternoon of community, creativity and Caribbean culture.

1:15pm — Welcome by host Afiya Holder

1:30pm — Offers, Asks and Wishes: a facilitated community wellbeing and networking session led by Diana Quintana Catano and Elizabeth Clapham

2:45pm — Calypso Writing Workshop with Alexander D. Great, two-time UK Calypso Monarch and BBC Calypsonian-in-Residence. The workshop flows into participant presentations and live extempo performance

Throughout — Caribbean food by Queen Ital and drinks by The Rumshack

Sunday 21 June 2026 — The Hall (upstairs), doors open 5:00pm

An evening of music, food and celebration to close our Windrush Day Gathering.

5:30pm — Live steelpan and DJ with Dexter Marchan, master pannist with 38 years of experience, born in Trinidad and Tobago

Throughout — Caribbean food by Queen Ital and drinks by The Rumshack

7:45pm — Closing of the Gathering

Entry is free. Donations welcome. Accessible venue. All are welcome.
