Event description

Vaughan-Taylor vs David Mitchell-Melcann was a lengthy legal struggle brought about to prevent a mining company, David Mitchell-Melcann, from extracting limestone out of Yessabah Hill, near Kempsey, NSW. Litigation brought by Keir Vaughan-Taylor through the Environmental Defenders Office, asserted that the Yessabah lease was invalid because it had lapsed. It also was subject to a National Parks objection.

Join us to find out why the implications of this conservation battle resonate today.
