Winter Holiday Workshops at The Con!

We are excited to offer some new holiday programs. We are excited to announce that all holiday programs are free in July. Programs for 12-24-year-olds have been funded by the Office of Regional Youth Holiday Break Program. Hume Conservatorium is subsidising the Junior Program. Please Note that the Workshops are for Young people 12-25 or for Children Under 12.
12-25-year-olds
5 July | Strings advanced class with Dr Nicole Hammill Develop your strings techniques. 1-3pm. Please bring a piece you have been working on.
5 July | Beginner Strings with Dr Nicole Hammill Just starting on strings, come along and work with Nicole on developing your techniques. This workshop will lead to another workshop opportunity on the 18th of July with Opera Australia Orchestra. 10am - 12pm
10 July | Synth Clinic With Elk Elektroniks MIDI for synths, hardware synchronisation, integrating hardware and software. Composition Workshop Task - Sampling sounds, integrating synths and samples in arrangements. Compiling layers and loops. 9am -3pm
11 July | Piano Masterclass with Glenn Amer learn advanced piano techniques. 10-2pm
11 July | Guitar Improvisation Techniques Join Stuart for some advanced guitar improvisation techniques 5-7pm
12-13 July | Recording, Production and Tech Workshop Get some recording done, and learn about production and tech. 10-1pm
14 July | Compsition for Video Games with Charlie Peterson 10-1pm
CANCELLED DUET TO SCHEDULE CONFLICTS 15 July | Blue Light Band Night - featuring local youth bands. Come along for a night of music, pizza and fun with local youth bands. 7pm

11 July | Guitar Orchestra with Garth Prentice (8-18 year-olds) 10am-2pm
5 July | Junior Strings Workshop Come along and practice the Modern Major General with Wanda, This workshop will lead to another workshop opportunity on the 18th of July with Opera Australia Orchestra. Suitable for beginners and junior strings players. 10am -12pm
11 July | Toots and Doods with Emma Knott. Discover Woodwind Instruments suitable for 5-12-year-old beginners. 3pm-5pm
11 July | Recorder Workshop with Emma Knott Have fun with recorders! Suitable for Primary aged students. 1pm -3pm
About the Tutors
Dr Nicole Hammill has been strings coordinator at Mitchell Conservatorium in Bathurst since 2018. A former Soloist, Concertmaster and Principal First Violin with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, she has an extensive performance history and three degrees in violin performance, including a doctorate of musical arts from Louisiana State University.
