Event description

Join Greg and Tracy Cooper, teachers in the Ashtanga Vinyasa Lineage for over 30 years, for 6 Wednesdays throughout the Winter months for an opportunity to expand the space around your Yoga practice.

About the Event

We can’t always make time to leave the city for recovery, so this could be a special opportunity to take time out for yourself and replenish.

The inspiration comes from wanting to share just how peaceful our Yoga Studio feels in the middle of the day, as well as building community around our Yoga practice.

Our focus for these sessions will be on accessible Asana, Pranayama, chanting and quiet reflecting practices as a retreat-style experience. These will all be based on the Ashtanga lineage and on the many years of teaching experience that Greg and Tracy bring to the table.

We will include ample time for deep relaxation and sharing our Yoga and life experiences in a trusted and supporting environment.

The retreats will also include a healthy Vegetarian lunch spread, prepared by Greg and Tracy.

What to Bring

If you have your own Yoga mat, please bring it along, but know that we also have mats you can borrow. Make sure to dress in comfortable clothing, suitable for exercising. Bring a notebook and a pen to take notes if you wish to.

Class Schedule

Classes will run between 10.30am and 2.30pm, with lunch served around 12.30pm.

Here are the dates:

☞ June 12th
☞ June 19th
☞ July 3rd
☞ July 24th
☞ August 21st
☞ August 28th

Cost for all 6 retreats is $350, but you can drop into a single one for $70.

Hope to see you there!

About our Studio

Born out of the bonds of close friendships and dedication to our traditional practice, the Ashtanga Yoga Centre offers a warm and inviting home for all of our students, whether new or established in the lineage.

Our Shala is a beautiful and serene space, used by Yogis several times a day, and humming with their energy long after they've left.

With three practice studios, honeyed real wood floors and high ceilings, we host a wide variety of classes, workshops, community and social events. Huge windows spill natural light into the main studio, making it a creative, reflective and energising space.

A communal kitchen infused with the aroma of home-brewed Chai tea has become a fond memory for Yogis around the globe as a place to share stories and experiences after practice.

Our generous space also includes changing facilities with toilets and showers, and mat storage facilities for our regular members. Visiting students can borrow practice mats, Yoga blankets, straps, blocks and bolsters to assist in their class.
