Speaking to the nature of the human condition, Schubert’s setting of Müller’s poetry weaves a narrative of pathological sorrow and reflection, the protagonist guiding the listener through a psychological and spiritual journey. Featuring Brenton Spiteri who joins BMF from the UK, this performance amplifies the frosty landscape of Schubert’s extraordinary song cycle with captivating immersive lighting.
