Event description

PASS SALES HAVE ENDED. PLEASE NOW PROCEED TO BUY INDIVIDUAL TICKETS FOR EVENTS.

Become a pass holder for Queenstown's Winter Pride '23, the most popular Winter Pride Festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Winter Pride is a festival, not just a handful of big parties. We offer a broad range of events, many of which are community-based and free, and work hard to offer many services and extras to make Winter Pride a wonderful, memorable 10 days for all. Your pass gives you access to a selected number of events and prioritsed access to many non-ticketed events which have limited capacity, such as Aprēs Ski (every evening) and the Sunday Session.

We offer priority ticket access to pass holders, meaning they get first access to book tickets for events, before the general public.

Please note that purchasing a pass does not guarantee your access to a given event, however it gives you the ability to select events which are still available at the time you purchased. We recommend you book as soon as you have access through our event selection form which is emailed to you once you purchase your pass. This gives you the best chance of being able to attend the events you’re most interested in.

This year, we're offering four pass types. Each gives you access to book tickets for different events.

  • MAXI - includes access to 10 events including the opportunity to select the Pride Dinner or Habana's Cocktail Masterclass PLUS the Gibbston Valley Long Lunch.
  • MINI -  includes access to 7 events not including the Pride Dinner, Habana's Cocktail Masterclass, or Gibbston Valley Long Lunch.
  • FLEXI - includes access to 3 events not including the Pride Dinner, Habana's Cocktail Masterclass, or Gibbston Valley Long Lunch.
  • FLEXI LITE -  includes access to 3 events not including Leather and Lace, Propaganda Snowball, Pride Dinner, Habana's Cocktail Masterclass, or Gibbston Valley Long Lunch.

Please note that our Sunday Session event does not count as one of your included events, as it’s free to pass holders and operates entirely on a revolving door policy. Similarly, you do not need to register or count any Apres Ski event as one of your included events as these are also free and require no registration.

Event selection surveys will be emailed to purchasers on 1 March 2023. After you have completed your event selection survey, your individual tickets will be emailed to you.

SELF-REFUND (if you cannot make it to the festival for any reason):

All Passes are partially refundable until the week before the festival.

If you're buying a Pass for 2023, take note of the deadlines below by which you can get a percentage of your ticket refunded to you (excluding bank transaction and Humanitix booking fees).

  • Before 21 January 2023 - 100%
  • Before 1 May  - 90%
  • Before 1 June - 80%
  • Before 1 July - 60 %
  • Before August 1 - 50%
  • Before August 25 - 10%
  • On or after August 25 - Festival opens, no refunds available.

Pass holders can self-manage their requests for refunds through the Humanitix system, and you don’t need to justify the reason for your cancellation to Winter Pride when doing so. Please note, refunds for cancellations are strictly limited to the amounts listed here, up to the dates in question. Winter Pride reserves the right to alter, cancel and move events if requested or required to by authorities and/or government bodies, including local authorities. If a pass holder wishes to cancel their tickets due to these changes then refunds will be strictly limited to the refund percentages listed. The non-refunded portion of fees is used to cover administration, booking, marketing and other commitments to suppliers and is strictly non-refundable after these dates listed below.

Please note that Passes are strictly non-transferable.  The name on the ticket purchase must match the name on the guests online registration and official ID.

Purchasing for more than one person? It is really important that you supply the correct name of the other people you are purchasing tickets for when you make your purchase as their ticket name (guest name) must match their ID. As stated above, tickets are non-transferrable so the purchase name must match the guest or ticket user's official ID.

What happens if the organisers cancel an event?
If an event is cancelled by Winter Pride, pass holders will be refunded the advertised ticket value for each of the individual cancelled events which were included in the pass holder's pass as part of their ticketed event selection, up to a maximum value of the amount paid for the event pass purchased (excluding BF - "Booking Fee" and any bank charges).

What does BF mean? This is Humanitix's abbreviation for their "Booking Fee".

Some other important fine print....

For ticket validation purposes an electronic copy of your ID is sufficient to gain entry to venues (as long as it matches the ticket holder's name!). You won't need to show your ticket as your ID name will match your ticket name.

All SkyCity hosted events are R20. Most other ticketed events where alcohol is sold are R18. It is the ticket holders responsibility to ensure that they are of age to attend.

Most events operate a REVOLVING DOOR policy with a TICKET WINDOW. This means that each ticket has an entry time - when your ticket is valid and guarantees entry. After that time, Winter Pride reserves the right to issue any remaining capacity to someone else. If you arrive with a ticket after the Ticket Window is closed, your ticket will have expired if the venue is at capacity. If there is still capacity and you arrive after the ticket window is closed, you will be given entry as long as there is still available capacity to the event. We do this to maximise early arrival and the number of guests in each event - a full event is a fun event.

What happens if I am a pass holder but I don't have a ticket to a specific event? This is something that we really love about Winter Pride. Pass holders are prioritised for free entry through any event's Revolving Door (capacity allowing) once the Ticket Window ends. We prioritise pass holders in the following order - Maxi, Mini, Flexi and Flexi lite. So if you are a pass holder, you can sometimes just try your luck and if there is space after the ticket window closes, you may get in. (Please note that Flexi Lite does not give holder's revolving door access to Leather and Lace or Propaganda Snowball).

This event is open to anyone of any gender or sexual identity. You are welcome here.
