Event description

This series runs on the following TUES evenings, from 7.30pm - 8.35pm (ish). Please note that there are two Tuesdays that the hall is not available and so we won't have a class those two evenings (TUES JUNE 24 and TUES JULY 8).

27 May 27, 3 June, 10 June, 17 June ... 1 July  ...  15 July, 22 July, 29 July.

In the 8-week, series we’ll learn the basics of a lovely flowing qi gong practice that helps to focus the mind in the present moment, build energy (qi) and return to balance after stress or illness. It also helps to enhance flexibility, balance emotion and down-regulate the nervous system.

Qi gong (chi kung) is an ancient Taoist system of movement and literally means “working with energy”, It has the same roots as traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture and tai chi, drawing on the use of breath, gentle movement and mindfulness to cleanse, strengthen and circulate chi (qi or life force) through the meridian pathways of the body. Research at the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine shows that qi gong extends life span, promotes healing and helps to cultivate a healthy body/mind.
