Winter School: Pop Culture and Theology

What does popular fashion, art, sport, entertainment, and technology tell us about the many influences on society? 

From classic perspectives of class, politics, and mass commercialisation, and into the new norms of personal branding and social media, our winter school on pop culture and theology will be a super fun survey into some of our biggest cultural industries. 

Over four weeks we will cover the birth and mass proliferation of what we know call “pop culture”, ask how theologians can engage pop culture well (and badly!), and will enjoy a weekly deep dives into pop cultural relics from film, music, sport and fashion. We hope you can join us!

Workshop details

Dates: Four consecutive Tuesdays, commencing 1 August to 22 August 2023.

Cost: $60 general rate/$30 concession rate. Registration includes all four workshops.

Time: 6.30-8.30pm
