Winter Song - Women's Singing Retreat
Event description
Winter Song is a one day singing circle retreat at one of my favourite places, the iconic Q-Station on Garangal, saltwater country, North Head, Manly, with me Angie Who, your local song sharer, independent artist & family music maker.
Did you know that when you sing...
- in a group, your brain waves & heart beats sync up
- your stress levels lower
- oxygen levels increase
- endorphins and oxytocin are released in your brain, increasing social bonding and your sense of wellbeing
You don’t have to be a professional or experienced singer to reap any of these benefits (and there are so many more).
At Winter Song we'll sing simple songs taught by ear. No sheet music, no solos, no experience required. We are just going to sing for joy, it's all about participation, not performance.
If you can talk, you can sing, I don't care what they told you in grade 4 ;)

I conclude with these words from the founder of Singing Mamas...
"Perhaps we'll never truly understand what a song is, where it comes from, where it exists when it's not being sung, or how it seems to carry with it its unique medicine, over hundreds of years and thousands of miles through millions of people." (Kate Valentine UK)
