Workshop 1: Native Leaves - Printing & Ink Painting

Date: Saturday, 16 August
Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: WWAG E3 Art Workshop
Cost: Free for Wiradjuri and First Nations People
Experience: No experience necessary

Join artist Sylvia Healy and Wiradjuri Elder Aunty Cheryl Penrith in a creative exploration of native leaves. Participants will start by collecting eucalyptus and other native leaves from the area around the Gallery and Wollundry Lagoon. While gathering, you’ll learn the Wiradjuri names and traditional uses of the leaves. Under Sylvia’s guidance, you’ll then use relief printing and embossing techniques to create beautiful, nature-inspired artworks. The day will include a break for lunch and refreshments.
