Wisdom & Wellbeing Wednesdays Season Pass 2025-S3
Event description
Wisdom and Wellbeing 2025 Season 3: Freedom
What does it mean to be free? How do we experience greater freedom in our lives?
This term of Mowana’s Wisdom & Wellbeing Program, we will explore the concept of freedom and learn how to cultivate a greater sense of freedom in our lives.
Program Overview
Week 1 – 23 July – Facing the Inner Tyrants: Plato’s Path to Inner Freedom
We begin by exploring Plato’s idea that our greatest obstacles to freedom lie within. Through presented material and guided discussion, we’ll look at how inner forces like fear, anger, and desire shape our lives—and how philosophy can help us reclaim inner authority and live more wisely.
Week 2 – 30 July – Freedom of Movement
Led by Cass Walice of Movement Journey, this session invites you to explore the body as a gateway to freedom. Through gentle, guided movement, we’ll tune into where we feel ease—and where we feel stuck—allowing the body to speak without judgement or choreography.
Week 3 – 6 August – Freedom of Voice
This session uses simple vocal toning to explore the voice as a tool for release and connection. No singing required—just a willingness to sound things out and notice what shifts. We'll explore how voice, breath and vibration can open space for real, grounded expression.
Week 4 – 13 August – Finding Freedom with Paul Taylor (Freedom Finders)
Join Paul Taylor to explore how breath can create space in both body and mind. Combining practical insights and guided breathwork, we’ll learn how simple breathing practices can reduce stress, reset the nervous system, and support emotional and physical freedom.
Week 5 – 20 August – Moksha
This session dives into the Indian philosophical concept of Moksha—ultimate freedom—and Svatantra, the idea of being self-ruled. We’ll explore how disciplined practice supports liberation and draw parallels between these Vedic ideas and Plato’s inner freedom.
Week 6 – 27 August – Breathing Freedom
Ana guides us through a movement and breath session inspired by Pranayama, Qigong, and Sufi traditions. The focus is on using breath to unlock physical and emotional freedom—creating a sense of space, presence, and grounded ease in the body.
Week 7 – 3 September – Freedom of Thought
Through the practice of InnerDance, this session explores what happens when the thinking mind softens. Using sound and spontaneous movement, we’ll investigate how our thought patterns shape us—and what becomes possible when we give them room to shift.
Week 8 – 10 September – Freedom of Expression
In this art therapy-based session, we explore how creative expression supports emotional freedom. No art skills needed—just a willingness to explore. Through guided exercises, we’ll loosen the grip of self-censorship and reconnect with what wants to be expressed.
Week 9 – 17 September – The Sound of Freedom with Becc Gray (Hold Space)
Becc Gray leads a sound therapy experience using crystal bowls, gongs, and voice to help you release tension and reconnect with yourself. Here, sound becomes more than relaxation—it’s a tool for emotional clarity, deep rest, and inner freedom.
Week 10 – 24 September – Free the Mind
We close the term with a session on meditation as a pathway to freedom. Drawing from both Eastern and Western traditions, we’ll explore how regular practice can help loosen the grip of Plato’s tyrants and support the Vedic journey toward Moksha—freedom at the deepest level.
