WISDOM TALK - The Paradox of Dharma with Corrina Galliano

Event description

Join Corinna Galliano, PhD, from the University of Sydney, as she delves into the modern application of the ancient Vedic teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

Our society, lives, and organizations are filled with dualities, contradictions and paradoxes. For example, organizations, must balance the need for innovation with the stability of established processes, the pursuit of profit with sustainable development. In our lives, we may face the paradox of work-life balance, striving to achieve career success while maintaining personal relationships and self-care. In our society, we have seen the emergence of polarising views and conflict.

To navigate such complex contexts, it is more important than ever to revive the ancient Vedic concept of Dharma, which guides us in finding harmony amidst chaos and teaches us to live in accordance with the laws of nature.

We will explore how the timeless insights of Vedic teachings, particularly the paradox of Dharma from the Bhagavad Gita, can inform our modern lives. The Gita presents an extreme example of how to apply the concept of Dharma to our lives. On a battlefield, the warrior Arjuna grapples with the contradictions between his duty (Dharma) as a warrior and his heart, which does not want him to go on killing his loved ones.
