‘ Wise up and rise up in Peel for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

Peel Community Legal Services & Relationships Australia are hosting - 

"Wise Up and Rise Up" event, this will commemorate World Elder Abuse Awareness Day by educating and empowering older people. Through expert-led panels, lived experiences, and interactive discussions, we will address elder abuse, its warning signs, and available support.

Sessions will cover financial exploitation, legal protections, and safety in intergenerational living. Engaging activities, including a performance, a free community raffles and a morning tea, will foster participation. 

This initiative, in partnership with Relationships Australia WA and other local services, will equip attendees with knowledge and resources to prevent elder abuse, ensuring they feel supported and valued in our community
