Included With Your Ticket: The 2027 Bessie Awards

Named after Bessie Coleman, the first woman of African American and Native American descent to hold a pilot’s license, the Bessie Awards honor women and gender-diverse people of impact in travel, particularly influencers, creative entrepreneurs, marketers, and other representatives who have contributed unique voices and work to the travel industry. 

ALL WITS ticketholders automatically get a free ticket to the Bessies. Non WITS ticketholders can also purchase a separate ticket to the Bessies in order to attend.

Add On: Creator 101

Creator 101 is a pre-conference, half-day program designed for attendees who are new to digital content creation and want a clear, realistic foundation for starting their creator journey.

This session is for creators who feel excited and overwhelmed—and want to understand how all the pieces fit together before diving in. Through a mix of short talks, hands-on workshopping, and guided discussion, you’ll learn from experienced creators and entrepreneurs about purpose, content creation, audience growth, monetization paths, and the basics of treating this work like a real business.

Rather than focusing on hacks or quick wins, Creator 101 helps you see the big picture, clarify your goals, and walk away with tangible tools, clear next steps, and a plan you can actually stick with—so you leave feeling confident, capable, and ready to get started.

Creator 101 costs an additional $99 USD (+ processing fees), and will take place on the Friday of WITS, before regular sessions begin and at the same time as the Media Marketplace. You'll get meaningful workshopping with some of the industry's greatest, a chance to connect with other newbies, and also lunch!
