The St James' International Organ Festival 2026: Music, Adventure, and a Big Bad Wolf

Join us for a family friendly afternoon of musical storytelling with Sergei Prokofiev's beloved classic, Peter and the Wolf.

Narrated by The Rev'd Christopher Waterhouse and performed by Marko Sever on the church's magnificent new organ, this timeless classic introduces audiences of all ages to the characters of Peter, the Bird, the Duck, the Cat, Grandfather and the Wolf through some of the most memorable music ever written.

The programme also features a colourful selection of music inspired by fantasy, animals and imagination, including Debussy's Danse (Tarantelle styrienne), Paul Dukas' thrilling The Sorcerer's Apprentice in a spectacular organ transcription, and delightful excerpts from Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals.
