Event description

The 8th annual Wolvi Stomp is back for another fantastic long-weekend of first-class original blues, rock and roots music, camping and food on the 10th  11th and 12th of October 2025.

The Wolvi Stomp is a three-day music and camping festival set in the beautiful Cooloola hinterland, halfway between Noosa and Gympie. This year we are incredibly privileged to headline two of Australia’s premier, multi-award-winning blues artists: the legendary Dom Turner with his new venture The Rural Blues Project and the captivating Lloyd Spiegel. With 19 artists, over three days, the Wolvi Stomp is for lovers of original blues and roots music and people who appreciate small, laid-back festivals in a relaxing rural setting.

Hosted by the Wolvi Hall, the Wolvi Stomp is limited to 250 weekend tickets, providing an intimate, affordable experience with the best Australian original blues, rock and roots music, without the crazy crowds of larger festivals. Don’t hesitate, this festival will sell-out quickly. There are no single-day tickets and no tickets will be available at the door. All proceeds from The Wolvi Stomp go straight back into the community, supporting maintenance and improvements to The Wolvi Hall, supporting the regional arts scene, and supporting our rural community.

We are super excited to bring you our incredible 2025 lineup: Dom Turner and The Rural Blues Project, Lloyd Spiegel, Mike Elrington, Nathan Beretta, Dillion James, Mark Easton, The Humbuckin’ Pickups, Ward’s Xpress, Sue Ray, The Hipshooters, Rhyley McGrath, Dan Hopkins & The Generous Few, Nicole Brophy, VidaPhunk, The Charles Camilleri Connection, Jacob Boote, Karen Thomsen, Trilla, Solar.

Dom Turner - Dom Turner & The Rural Blues Project

Dom Turner’s new venture The Rural Blues Project hybridises and arranges 20th Century rural blues music from artists such as Lead Belly, Fred McDowell and Robert Johnson, and breathing new life for 21st century audiences.

Multi award winning Australian artist, Dom Turner is best known as guitarist, lead vocalist, and founding member of the iconic Australian blues group, Backsliders as well as other international collaborations including R.L. Boyce with Dom Turner, The Turner Brown Band and Phil Wiggins & Dom Turner. Dom has toured the Australian festival circuit since the 1980s and regularly appears at most major, blues-related music festivals including Bluesfest, Woodford Folk Festival and Blues on Broadbeach to name but a few. He is a regular visitor to the home of the blues, the USA performing at festivals including Augusta Blues Week in West Virginia, and the RL Boyce Picnic and the Otha Turner Goat Picnic in Mississippi.

Joining Dom is legendary drummer Rosscoe Clarke (Foreday Riders, Cyril B Bunter) with occasional special guests.

Lloyd Spiegel

Melbourne Blues artist Lloyd Spiegel has been touring the globe for 30 of his 40 years.

The 14 time Australian Blues Award Winner has one of the most interesting stories in music, having grown up on stage, learning from and touring with the founding fathers of modern Blues.

Spiegel’s guitar wizardry, powerful lyrics and knack for humorous story telling delivers a truly unique performance that reinvents the genre and dispels the cliches associated with the Blues.

“A guitarist almost without peer, Spiegel deconstructs how the blues guitar is supposed to operate, makes sweet love to it, then kicks it out the back door”
– Australian Guitar Player Magazine

“Spiegel is ALL presence, authority, rhythm and drive. He epitomizes control, soul and passion with white hot ferocity and blazing instrumental mastery dangerous enough to spark a destructive inferno.”
– The Age, Melbourne

Festival information:

The Wolvi Hall is located 30 minutes north-west of Noosa, 20 minutes east of Gympie, and 40 minutes west of Rainbow Beach. Our campgrounds surround the hall and are covered in lush green grass, dotted with gum trees and bordered by Tagigan Creek, with the Wolvi Mountain as our backdrop. The Wolvi Stomp is run by volunteers from the Wolvi Community, with all proceeds supporting The Wolvi & District War Memorial Hall, the Wolvi State School and the Wolvi Rural Fire Brigade.

This is a no-frills, black and gold, community-run festival; no sponsors, no VIP tickets, no fancy decorations. Expect excellent live music in a good old-fashioned community hall, with great food, cheap beverages, professional sound and a bunch of dedicated, happy volunteers. We keep the running costs low, the ticket price low and the best quality music on tap so that we can sustain our festival in the long-term. We do this because we love original live music and we especially love sharing it with our Stomp family, who return each year for this little hidden nugget of a festival.

Tickets are limited to 250 people and are available via Humanitix or directly from The Bar @ The Wolvi Hall during one of our monthly Open Mic events (until sold out). We only sell three-day weekend passes. There are no single-day tickets available. We sold out last year and we expect to sell-out again this year. There will not be any tickets available at the door.

There are two ticket options:

Option 1: Weekend pass (Friday-Sunday) including camping (un-powered, on-site camping at The Wolvi Hall with portable toilets, portable showers and food vans).

Option 2: Weekend pass (Friday-Sunday) general admission (no camping). If you are looking for an alternative to the camping experience, there are plenty of Airbnb options in the local vicinity. If you miss out on a camping ticket, there are also local private campsites listed on Hipcamp.

Children 17 years and under are admitted free, however there are no child-friendly activities provided and this is not a children’s event. Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times, both within the hall and within the campgrounds.

The Wolvi Hall is a licensed venue so please don't attempt to bring alcohol into the hall. The Wolvi Hall Bar provides a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at very reasonable prices.

Food vans will be operating throughout the festival, providing a range of options for your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Breakfast Station will be providing bacon and eggs rolls on Saturday and Sunday mornings. They will also be selling bags of ice for your convenience.
