Share a Song, Share a Story: A Concert Celebrating Women of Colour
Join us for the second annual Share a Song, Share a Story concert, a collaborative fundraiser presented by Women of Colour Australia (WoCA) and Our Race Community. This year's event takes place on February 28th on Gadigal Land, in partnership with APRA AMCOS.
In honour of International Women of Colour Day on March 1st, Share a Song, Share a Story is an empowering opportunity to come together as a community. Through music, storytelling, and collective action, we uplift the voices and experiences of Women of Colour and foster solidarity.
This unforgettable evening will showcase a diverse lineup of talented musicians, led by WoCA's Global Ambassador, Emily Williams, and featuring Kween G, Lady Chika, and more. Enjoy a powerful celebration of their artistry while raising funds for WoCA and Our Race Community to continue their essential work.
Your ticket includes a delectable selection of food, along with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage upon arrival. Additionally, a silent auction will take place, made possible by the generous support of our friends and community partners.

About the Artists
From her humble beginnings as a forklift driver to her dazzling rise to fame on 'Australian Idol,' Emily Williams has proven time and again that raw talent, hard work, and sheer determination can open doors to incredible opportunities. With her stunning vocals and captivating stage presence, Emily has cemented her position as a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry, captivating audiences worldwide with her breathtaking performances. Her groundbreaking casting as Rachel Marron in the UK production of 'The Bodyguard' is particularly noteworthy, as she is one of the first women of Polynesian heritage to take on a leading role in a UK musical. But it is not just her talent that makes Emily stand out - it is her commitment to creating positive change and promoting diversity and representation. As the Global Ambassador for "Women of Colour Australia," she uses her platform to amplify the voices of marginalised women and push for greater inclusivity in all aspects of society. Emily Williams is not just an exceptional artist - she is a shining example of what it means to be passionate, authentic, and unapologetically yourself.
Angelica Osuji aka (Chika) is a artist and creative visionary based in Sydney Australia. She was born in Brazil and raised there and New Zealand. Her inspirations and creative expression is rooted in her black experience, in black history and culture. Just like dance chose her, She chose music. She grew up loving 90's hip hop, Classic RNB, Michael Jackson, Brazlian Funk and lots of Music from the African Diaspora.
In 2019, she decided to pursue her other creative passion djing. As a dancer and performer of arts the love for music is in her bones and this is the next step in her journey to continue to spread joy, art love, fun and worship music. She has played at afro parties such as Afrojam, Redratttler, Can you afro?, Burna Boy pre-party, Stage of Origins and many more. And haven't look back since.
Kween G Kibone started her career with the explosive Hip Hop outfit KillaQueenz. As an artist, MC, community advocate and curator her commitment to her own artistry and to supporting emerging artists is formidable.
Kween G is both an industry and cultural leader and emerging Afro-Australian Icon. Renowned for provocative, unflinching and authentic Hip Hop content, Kween G delivers a dynamic style as an MC, performer and Hip Hop artist. Kween G is often described as “consciousness-raising”. Her fighting spirit – for women’s rights and those in disadvantaged communities – courage and humility have earned her respect across the country. Kween G is a strong advocate of women’s representation within the music industry and currently sits on the advisory panel of the Australian Women in Music Awards.
In demand to host and contribute to large scale events, (Sydney Festival, Africultures Festival, Ethics Centre debate- IQ2, Marrickville Festival, Women's Scream International Poetry Festival),Kween G is an experienced cross cultural communicator and facilitator. Kween has developed and delivered workshops in N.T and N.S.W. In her various capacities Kween has developed a significant network through her music, broadcasting and facilitation and she has worked for 15+ years as a producer/presenter and is a qualified trainer in community radio.
Recent creative works saw Kween G in her debut theatre performance in Urban Theatre Projects “Home Country” 2017 and soon after headlined the sold out Pan Africa Poets Cafe-Black Girl Magic at Melbourne Arts Centre. In the same year she released the single “Who I Am” a fearless vision statement from a “Femcee” who writes to encourage us all to fiercely pursue our unique passions “until the wheels fall off”
