Event description

The Women on the Tools Carpentry series is developed for beginners, who have no previous experience with tools or in workshops. This course is where you can start your carpentry learning journey, as a low cost low risk venture into a workshop environment.  In this 1/2day course you’ll be gently guided through basic principles of carpentry.

The Introduction to Carpentry - make a tool caddy course allow participants to apply their learning as they construct a wooden tool caddy to carry your goods in.

This starting point of tool use includes:

· Confidence in your ability to use the following tools correctly and safely – drill drivers, measuring equipment and a taste of using a power saw.

· Learning to measure and cut accurately

· Practice simple joinery using drills and screws

· Familiarise yourself with the workshop environment, practices and health and safety

What is provided - All tools and materials are included in the registration.  Morning Tea (tea, coffee and biscuits) is provided.

What to Wear – weather appropriate clothes you are happy to get dirty in and sturdy closed-in shoes. We provide safety glasses and ear protection.

In this introductory unit, you’ll make a wooden tool caddy to take home with you.

Dimensions 30cm(L) x 15cm(W) x 20cm(H)
