Join us on Wednesday, April 9, 7pm - 7.50pm AEST (Australian eastern standard time) - as we continue our Women Power: 1M Transforming My Home Program (via Zoom)! These online sessions are a monthly space where we come together to learn, ask questions and connect with each other.

Session 7: Insulation Specialists
In this next session of our Women Power program is all about comfort in our homes. A well-insulated and designed home provides year-round comfort, whilst saving you as much as 40% on your energy bills! This, in turn, reduces your household emissions too. We will go through how and why you should insulate your home as part of your electrification plan to make the most of the process.

Insulation acts as a barrier to heat flow and is essential for keeping your home warm in winter and cool in summer. Insulation can also help with weatherproofing and eliminate moisture problems such as condensation.

Whether you are a homeowner or renter or in any other lifestyle circumstance, over the next 12 months, we will be helping you look for the cost savings, emissions savings, energy savings and health benefits and explore the ways to move away from gas and create an efficient and comfortable home.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS PROGRAM?

Reducing our global emissions needs the biggest collaborative effort from every sector of society - the energy we use and save in our households plays a huge role. (In Australia alone a whopping 20% of our overall emissions come from the energy powering our homes and cars.)

Many of us will make big decisions over the next few years and with our power bills and rising energy costs being more energy efficient is a huge part of this transformation too.

We know it’s not all easy! But we want to understand the challenges and the solutions to getting off gas and how we can create energy efficient, comfortable homes that don’t rely on fossil fuels.

From this program we are going to create a blue print on what we learn over the next 12 months - the stories from women for women.
