The three main objectives of the hui are:
Advancing Collective and Community-Focused Housing Models
We will explore, strengthen, and co-create pathways for housing models that put people before profit—such as cohousing, cooperatives, community land trusts, and circular economy villages. Participants will gain inspiration, strategies, and networks to move their own projects forward, while contributing to a growing ecosystem of shared housing solutions.
Tackling Housing Affordability Through Innovative Approaches
Together, we’ll address the urgent need for affordable housing by looking at creative models of financing, shared ownership, and cooperative systems that keep homes permanently affordable. Participants will leave with practical tools, fresh ideas, and opportunities to collaborate on real solutions for women, families, and communities across Aotearoa.
Unlocking Policy, Partnerships, and Pathways for Change
Housing transformation requires enabling policies, creative partnerships, and supportive legal and financial frameworks. We’ll strategise on how to shift planning rules, legislation, and lending systems to open space for community-led housing. Participants will connect with allies, learn advocacy strategies, and contribute to a collective voice for systemic change.
What participants will walk away with:
Knowledge, inspiration, tools, strategies, and connections to advance their projects, work places, and passions — plus a shared vision of what we can continue to influence together beyond the hui.
