Event description

It's that time of year again when we invite you to our 2024 AGM; an opportunity to come together to celebrate the work of the last year and look forward to the next year. The WCC AGMs are more than just an admin meeting. They are a chance to meet other members, hear an interesting  speaker and more.

At the meeting, members will have the opportunity to:

  • find out about WCC’s operations and finances
  • ask questions about the operations and finances of WCC
  • speak about any items on the agenda
  • vote on any resolutions proposed.

Members will also be asked to vote to:

  • accept the minutes of the last annual general meeting
  • accept the annual report
  • accept the auditor’s report and financial statements
  • elect directors
  • vote on a minor consitutional amendment.

We filling some vacancies on the Steering Circle (aka Board) - who are the ones that set strategy and direction for WCC and oversee governance. Please contact Kirsten Anker (see below) if you are interested in nominating for these positions or to join our Hub (aka Operations group) who are the ones that get stuff done.

After the business of the meeting, we’ll take advantage of being together to hear a speaker and share some conversation:

This year, we will hear the aspirations of a younger member, Alexandra King, Sustainability Supervisor at the Eurobodalla Shire Council, Moruya, NSW, who will be in conversation with WCC's Kirsten Anker.  Alex is an experienced project officer passionate about waste management, sustainable business, community development and climate action, and with volunteer and professional experience in implementing projects which aim to address global challenges at a local level.

We met Alex when WCC went 'on the road' to Moruya in the Eurobodalla Shire on the NSW South Coast and presented one of our Roadshow workshops and the next day had a WCC stall at the Eurobodalla Shire Festival of Sustainable Choices, organised by Alex and her team at the Shire Council.
