WEDO Summit Impactful Highlights Include:

During the #WEDO2024 Summit, we plan to unveil a truly life-changing announcement. We are committed to funding 1000 impoverished women with microloans to start their entrepreneurial journeys–offering them a HAND UP! Through our partnership with Opportunity International, we will empower these women to embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys, transforming their lives and communities.

We will celebrate a momentous achievement! WEDO will proudly declare the resounding success of our support for Defy Ventures' 5th cohort at York Correctional Institution. With an impressive 84% success rate, this transformative EIT entrepreneurship program has empowered incarcerated women to reach new heights. WE're fostering hope, growth, and brighter futures!

We are sponsoring a mentorship program for disadvantaged female students to attend our summit at the United Nations! We support Restart Academy, which provides educational services for students ages 13-21 in transitional settings, including juvenile justice, substance use treatment, mental/behavioral health treatment, hospitals, social services agencies, and other temporary or involuntary settings (Foster Homes and Homeless Shelters). We give these enthusiastic young girls the tools to make their DREAMS come true by providing them with the opportunity to network with and be inspired by successful leaders and role models – LIKE YOU!

We are proud to share that New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, New York Mayor Eric Adams, and Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney proclaimed Women’s Entrepreneurship Day an official day on November 19th. The U.S. House of Representatives annually recognizes the WEDO movement on November 19th as “A Day in Honor of Women Entrepreneurs” under the leadership of Congresswoman Grace Meng.
