Women's Guided Ride: International Women’s Day
Event description
Guided Ride: International Women’s Day
Celebrate International Women’s Day with a relaxed guided bike ride exploring the city centre. This is an opportunity to honour women’s achievements, embrace equity, and enjoy a welcoming community on wheels.
We'll journey along College Street, Pitt Street, Kent Street, Liverpool Street, and the new Castlereagh Street Cycleway. Along the way, we’ll highlight bicycle connections towards adjoining suburbs, helping you discover new routes for your future journeys.
The ride finishes just before sunset, allowing you to enjoy the magical evening ambience as the city lights begin to sparkle. This is a low-pressure ride at a relaxed pace, led by the slowest rider to ensure no one is left behind. It’s the perfect way to connect with new friends and celebrate International Women’s Day together.
If you're unsure how to reach the starting point, consider taking your bike on the train to Circular Quay. Bikes are permitted on Sydney trains.
You’ll need:
- Your own roadworthy bike and helmet (consider bringing your bike lock & lights if you wish to explore the city after the ride)
- Water bottle and snacks
- Your sense of adventure and a spirit of celebration!
Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Bookings are required.
We encourage participants to complete the Cycling in the City course before joining a guided ride. The course equips you with the skills needed to ride confidently in Sydney.
Guided rides are led by professional guides from Pedal Set Go on behalf of the City of Sydney.
