Women's Memorial Tree + Q&A: Fighting Gender Based Violence
Event description
Born from disgust and anger of the endemic rise of violence against women in Australia, an audio visual artwork was created to help shine a light on the issue. The artwork titled, "Women's Memorial Tree" aims to provoke thought and action, while remaining respectful to the victims and their loved ones.Â
Developed under a City of Greater Bendigo Create Lab 2024 grant, the project is produced by Kylie Art, features visual artwork sculpted natively in VR by internationally awarded VR/AR/XR artist, Reverse Butcher and is accompanied by an original song, 'Is this the world?' composed and performed by emerging artist, Sharp Candy.Â
