Women's River Crossing Course
Description
Knowing how to read a river, cross it safely, and handle it if you lose your footing is a real confidence booster for exploring in the backcountry. We have designed this women's course to provide a safe place to learn the following;
π Is it safe to cross? Reading the signs before you step in
π How to read a riverΒ Β
π How to cross safely, solo or as a group
π What to do if you lose your footing
There's genuinely no one better to learn this from than Bob. Big Water Bob has spent 35+ years guiding rivers around the world β national and world titles in kayaking, decades as a raft guide, and last year he just won the Yukon 1000, the world's longest paddle race. He reads a river the way most of us read a street sign.
This is a practical, get your feet wet session!Β
The course will be held within an hour of Te Anau. Exact location will be disclosed prior to event.
