Description

Knowing how to read a river, cross it safely, and handle it if you lose your footing is one of the most grounding skills you can carry into the backcountry.

We've designed this women's course as a safe place to learn exactly that:

๐Ÿ“ Is it safe to cross? Reading the signs before you step in
๐Ÿ“ How to read a river
๐Ÿ“ How to cross safely โ€” solo or as a group
๐Ÿ“ What to do if you lose your footing

And there's genuinely no one better to learn it from than Bob McLachlan of Best Foot Forward NZ. Big Water Bob has spent 35+ years guiding rivers around the world โ€” national and world kayaking titles, decades as a raft guide, and last year he took out the Yukon 1000, the world's longest paddle race. He reads a river the way most of us read a street sign.

This is a practical, get-your-feet-wet session โ€” real skills, real water, in good company.

The course runs within an hour of Te Anau. Exact location shared before the event.

๐ŸŒŠ Spots are limited โ€” book early to secure yours.
