Restorative Communities: Allyship Training for Men
Event description
Restorative Communities is a small collective focused on building community capacity around issues such as gender-based harm and violence (GBHV), inclusion, safety and survivor support in Naarm (Melbourne) within the events and festivals scene/s and the communities that spring up around them.
Education, networking and support are essential to growing healthier, happier communities. Allyship training for Men is our first offering of this kind and we would dearly love to have you there.
The topics covered in the workshop will include:
- - Unpacking Gender-based Harm and Violence (GBHV)
- - Bystander Intervention Skills: The Basics
- - Building Alliances with other Men to address GBHV
- - Supporting Persons Affected
- - Safety and Inclusion for Events and Festivals
The workshop will be accessible and collaborative, with plenty of space for discussion and reflection. You will have the opportunity to learn practical skills and strategies to support you in recogising and responding to GBHV and becoming a more confident and valuable ally to your community and loved ones.
