Women's Weaving and Healing Workshop
Event description
Weaving circle and healing ceremony event for Indigenous female students and staff at UNSW. As apart of Mental Health Month the event focuses on coming together as a community to focus on healing and connecting with each other and our culture. Practiced for centuries weaving is a valued custom of Indigenous culture.
Through an online workshop, the event will allow each student to create a small basket and following the weaving workshop there will be a women’s healing ceremony.
Events such as this are important for mob to get involved in especially at times when we are all so disconnected. This event has limited capacity therefore if you cannot make it, there may be opportunities down the line for other workshops.
This event is brought to you by the UNSW Indigenous Collective as part of UNSW's Mental Health Month. Check out the program for other events you may be interested in.
