Event description

For our very first collaboration One Roof and Ampjar are excited to bring you this online event where a panel of impressive female founders will share their journey to engineering pandemic success.

Don't be fooled, none of the last two years have been easy. It has taken sheer determination and persistence. These women have flirted with failure, they have worked hard to find opportunities in the midst of a crisis and they have focused on their customers, community building and supporting local in order to keep their businesses alive.

During the event our panellists will share:

  • How they survived some of their darkest and hardest moments of this pandemic
  • How they managed to pivot or grow their businesses so successfully
  • Their failures, frustrations and lessons learnt
  • Their experiences and tips on the power of building viral online communities

And the best part about attending this event?! Ampjar are sponsoring 3 attendees with a 12 month One Roof membership giving you access to an online network of 700+ women, business check in calls, opportunities to boost your profile and increase your revenue, access to regular masterclasses and so much more. Ampjar will announce the winners at the end of the event and will base their decision on the answer to the 3 questions we ask you when you register to attend this event.

More on our panellists:

Bronwyn Bate, Cofounder of Mettle

In early 2019, Browyn and her sister founded Mettle to address the problem of homelessness. Mettle is a national gift delivery service employing women experiencing homelessness as a way of empowering women. Domestic and family violence is the single largest driver of homelessness for women and as this increased during the pandemic, Mettle’s training and employment program became more necessary than ever.

Kate Dillon, Founder of She Lion

In 2015, Kate founded She Lion. Her mission is to create premium products that embolden women to Walk Fearlessly and ignite opportunity. We’re talking statement making handbags with distinctive interiors for tech, chargers and EVERYTHING else we now carry in our bags in today’s modern world. When COVID-19 hit in 2020, Kate had to think quick - with workers no longer commuting the need for her products greatly diminished. In a sensational product pivot, the business sought to establish a wholly end-to-end Australian made range of empowered slogan apparel, made primarily by female makers, that supports 20+ local VIC and NSW businesses to survive (and thrive through) the pandemic. You can watch the video journey here

Merissa Forsyth, Founder & CEO, Pretty Foundation

Merissa is the Founder & CEO of Pretty Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to instilling body confidence in young girls aged 2-6. Envisioning a world where all females are comfortable in their bodies, confident in themselves, and conquering in their endeavours, Merissa founded the Pretty Foundation in 2016. The journey of Pretty Foundation began in 2012. Merissa quit her job and partnered with a body image charity to launch a campaign "Makeup Free Me."
After a few years of successfully running this campaign Merissa decided it was time to start a charity that focused on early education and prevention. And
that’s how the Pretty Foundation was born!
